The experience is meant to be simple. You walk into a lobby built around a game or community and the people are already there. There is no maze of servers to work through and no endless collection of channels to search.
You talk in the open, meet the regulars, and find the people you click with. Then THE HIVE gives you the tools to stay connected, create your own space, and take that group straight into a game together.
The Pager is more than a private message window. It is your buddy system and your direct connection to the people you meet throughout THE HIVE.
Add someone as a buddy and you can easily see when they are online and stay connected through the Pager. If they choose to share their location, you can also see where they are inside THE HIVE, including which room they are in.
Presence is always controlled by the user. Everyone decides who can locate them and who cannot. You can allow only your buddies to locate you, allow anyone to locate you, or choose to let no one locate you at all. Instead of losing track of someone the moment they leave a lobby, the Pager keeps that connection with you while still respecting the privacy settings they choose.
Want to talk privately? Page them.
Want them to join your room or the current lobby you're in? Send the invite directly.
Need to send a file? You can do that from the Pager too.
Decide how pages arrive, who can contact you, how telegrams are handled, whether alerts appear, and how visible you want to be.
Your buddies, pages, telegrams, files, invitations, and presence all live in one place, giving you a simple way to stay connected without leaving the community around you.
The lobby is where you meet people. The rooms are where you gather and play games. The Pager is how you keep your people close.
Not big on public spaces? No problem. Pull your group into a room and make it yours. Your room is added to the visible room list, and you decide whether to leave the door open or lock it.
Friends, familiar faces, or someone you just met in the lobby can click and join an open room, or you can invite someone directly through their Pager.
Inside the room, you are in control. Talk, chat, turn on your cam, share a stream, hang out, or launch a game together. Your room becomes your own space inside the larger community without cutting you off from everything happening around you.
We wanted moderation inside THE HIVE to be powerful without making it complicated. When you create a room, you become the moderator and you have the keys to the space you created. There are no endless permission trees to build, no piles of roles to configure, and no hours of setup before the room is usable.
Right click your own username and your room controls are there. Right click another user and individual moderation tools are available instantly.
Maybe you want voice and chat together, maybe only chat, maybe voice with no text conversation at all. You shape the room around what you are actually doing.
Organizing an event or a match? Mute the entire room, voice, chat, or both with a single action, and still give specific people permission to speak or chat.
Individual users can be muted or removed just as easily, so one person can keep things moving.
If someone is kicked, the room stays locked to them for the life of that room unless you invite them back.
The goal is simple. Give the person running the room real control without turning moderation into a job.
When it is time to play, you do not leave the room and start piecing everything together somewhere else. For supported games, THE HIVE lets you build the match and the dedicated server directly from the room.
Choose the map, game mode, player count, time limits, weapons, teams, gameplay rules, and other supported server settings through a simple point and click setup. Behind that simple interface is a real dedicated game server configured the way you want it. You are not just clicking Play. You are shaping the server itself without having to touch command lines or manually edit configuration files.
When the setup is ready, players click Ready. The room moderator hits Launch, and everyone who is ready is automatically pulled directly into the game and into the match. No handing out IP addresses. No waiting for everyone to find the right server. No walking people through connection settings.
You build the server the way you want it. THE HIVE handles getting everyone there.
